will be talking for a while about Victory over this life's system and our
entrance into eternity (the Ultimate Victory).
Joshua
10:10
The LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a
great victory at Gibeon. Israel pursued them along the road going up
to Beth Horon and cut them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah.
What would life be without
struggle? I am sure you wouldn't mind finding out . . .
. But seriously, fighting battles creates heroes and
powerful people. Muscles and calluses are made with hard
work. Strength comes after the victorious battle. The
LORD never told Joshua,
"Wait here on the wrong side of the Jordan while I go win the
land for you." But HE
did tell Joshua to cross the Jordan, fight obediently and HE
would fight with him! And,
of course, HE tells us the
same thing. We fight a spiritual battle each day much like
the physical battle Joshua and the Host of Israel fought to win
the land. Later in the chapter as Joshua pursues the kings
of the Amorites, the LORD gets
involved and rains hail down on the retreating enemy. That
is all HE wants from us.
We fight in accordance to HIS
direction, and HE will stand
with us, safeguard us, and even join the battle! And there
is no foe equal to the Power of the KING
OF KINGS! And
that is exciting!
