will be talking for a while about Victory over this life's system and our
entrance into eternity (the Ultimate Victory).
Judges
12:3
When I saw that you wouldn't help, I took my life in my hands and crossed
over to fight the Ammonites, and the LORD gave me the victory over
them. Now why have you come up today to fight me?"
This verse comes from the
recounting of the fight of a man named Jephthah and his courageous
stand against the Ammonites. In this particular battle,
Jephthah had asked the help of the men of Ephraim but did not
receive it. So, he and his people faced the enemy alone,
overwhelmed and outnumbered. But,
the LORD entered the battle
and gave Jephthah Victory against all odds. Do
you have an "against all odds" battle you must
face? Do you feel alone in this battle? Well, you are
not alone. Here is the key to receiving the LORD'S
help in your struggle: 1.
Don't be afraid. Although you may be overwhelmed, the
Word of GOD counsels us to not
fear! That is because HE
is never overwhelmed and the battle is HIS.
Although HE fights many times
through you, remember that as a follower of JESUS,
it is not now you who lives, but CHRIST
in you, the hope of glory! 2.
Trust HIM.
Nothing activates the LORD
like a little faith. See that I did not say, "Huge
faith." JESUS
taught that small faith moves mountains (Matthew
17:20). Just trust HIM
to take your side because it is what HE
does best! HIS
help is not based on your perfection, but on HIS
love, courage and your need. Trust HIM
and let HIS Victory be
yours. And remember . . .
JESUS
