Today's E-Votion

The Victory
(continued)

Let's continue to talk victory!  Do you know how often the Word of GOD uses the word?  Wanna see?  Click here.  Then come back to finish this evotion.  We will be talking for a while about Victory over this life's system and our entrance into eternity (the Ultimate Victory).

1 Samuel 19:5
He took his life in his hands when he killed the Philistine. The LORD won a great victory for all Israel, and you saw it and were glad. Why then would you do wrong to an innocent man like David by killing him for no reason?"

-----------------------------------

Are you plagued with jealousy?  Do people hate you for no apparent reason?  Turn it around for a moment.  Are you jealous of others who seem to have more than you coming their way?

First let me assure you that all this is a natural human trait.  And, of course, that is exactly why it is not good.  It is 100% human and 0% Godly.

In our verse above, King Saul had become venomously jealous of David and his accomplishments in warfare.  David was also an excellent musician and poet.  I am sure he was very good looking and had a way with people.

It all sounds so familiar.  We all face the temptation to compete and be preferred above our peers, and we see our friends and even family sometimes work overtime to besmirch our reputation and somehow prove themselves better than us.

Relax!  In the sight of the LORD, we are one of two things:

1.  HIS child
2.  Potentially HIS child.

HE loves each and every one of us with an everlasting love.  In HIS sight, we are all worthy of appreciation in the use of our individual gifts and talents.  These are from HIM, so there is no reason for us to boast.

On the reverse side, when we strive to please others by running a negative campaign against our "competition," we show the evil and tainted side of our personality.  Rest assured there will be a day in this life, and a day in the next when we will all be known for exactly who we are - no more - no less.

So we can live a relaxed life very simply if we prefer others over ourselves and live live in Victory by utilizing the somewhat rarely heard of Golden Rule

Treat others as you would have them treat you!"
