The
Victory
(continued)
Judges
12:3
When I saw that you wouldn't help, I took my life in my hands and crossed
over to fight the Ammonites, and the LORD gave me the victory over
them. Now why have you come up today to fight me?"
-----------------------------------
Jephthah the Gileadite was a
mighty warrior. He was the son of Gilead and a
prostitute. His brothers cast him away from the family
leaving him homeless, fatherless and destitute.
From humble beginnings . . .
. How is your past? A bit rocky? Fine. You
are a candidate for becoming a mighty warrior!
You see, JESUS
has a tendency to use the humble things of this world to do mighty
deeds and great accomplishments. Well, not always so great
looking in the natural realm.
I believe it is important to
not view ourselves in terms of our culture when evaluation what we
have accomplished. JESUS
HIMSELF told us never to store
up treasures on this earth, but to store up heavenly treasures.
HE
told us to rejoice when persecuted for HIS
Name for great is our heavenly reward.
The point is that we must seek
after the things that are of value to HIM
and not to seek things that bring us peer recognition.
The good news is that Jephthah
became a hero in the Book that counts! He trusted the LORD
and the LORD gave him
Victory! You can do the same, right here, right now!
And remember:
JESUS
Never Fails!
